Showtime
Music Frequently Asked Questions
We
are a reputable company that stands by our dedication to make your
party
memorable. Your wedding reception is a special day, and we want
it to be
talked about amongst your friends and family for years to come.
We offer
20 years of professional DJ experience that has helped to make many
brides and
groom’s big day flow smoothly and carefree in the Wabash Valley?
We are
here to cater to your desires for your big day, and also add our
knowledge of
all decades of music, entertainment, and fun to your day. When
your hire
Showtime Music you are guaranteed to get Matt Luecking, and not some DJ
that
just played his first wedding starting with yours.
2. Do you plan on
quitting the Dj business since
you left full-time radio?
No-this is a terrible
misconception that just because you are not a full-time radio DJ that
you don’t
plan to DJ anymore.
3. Do you ever see
yourself returning to
full-time radio?
This is
doubtful with the changing nature of the business. If somebody
could
guarantee me a contract to do it in the Wabash Valley or Indianapolis,
anything
is possible. I just think the industry is changing so much that
it isn’t
something I want to consider at this time!
4.
What made you
decide to work in Indianapolis in radio?
It was a goal I
always wanted to achieve, and I love working at WZPL in
Indianapolis.
Check the station out to listen online at www.wzpl.com.
I can be heard on some Sunday afternoons.
5. Do you ever
consider a return to Terre Haute
radio?
I feel like I’ve done
my time in
6. Did you move?
Whoever
started that rumor needs to stop. I would imagine it was started
by a
competitor trying to gain some extra business. I like it here,
and even
if I did move to Indianapolis or somewhere I would still come back and
DJ
events in the Wabash Valley for Showtime Music. I didn’t start
this
company 20 years ago with the intention to stop it.
7. Do you Dj all
types of events?
From
grade school, middle school, high school events, class reunions, proms,
birthday parties, graduation parties, christmas parties, picnics,
fraternity
and sorority formals, to weddings, we do it all.
8. Are you still
friends with your old Mix fm
comrades?
Absolutely! You can
check out a lot of them, who are all over the country, and some still
in the
9. Do you miss
working at Mix fm?
Absolutely,
but things change sometimes. I still keep in touch with lots of
my
friends in Terre Haute radio. I still keep up with Steve Smith,
who has
moved to Montgomery, Alabama, Ben Davis, who is on to Louisville, Beau
Richards
who is in Louisiana, and
the list goes on…..!
10. Why did you not
decide to move to a bigger
radio market?
I liked
the Wabash Valley, and I decided that the nomadic lifestyle was not for
me. I have a desire to be married, and remain somewhat close to
family
and friends. I would never say never, but it’s doubtful.
11.
Do you still love Djing?
As Coolio
said back in the day if Hip Hop didn’t pay I’d rap for free.
Well, I
wouldn’t go that far, but I love it, and I love the looks on people’s
faces
when they are having a good time?
12. Do
you only play Top 40 music at dances?
Absolutely not. We play in all from the
40’s to
today. I love all types of music, and I love to see how to fit it
all
together like a puzzle to make your event what you want it to be.
13.
Does your company travel?
Yes we
do. We have a travel fee that we have to charge with gas prices
being so
crazy, but it isn’t unreasonable.
14. How much is the deposit to hold the date of the DJ event?
It is 100 dollars to reserve the date, and the
remaining
balance is owed the week of the event.
15. Who will Dj your wedding reception?
I thought I would be the groom, best man, usher,
justice of
the peace, mc, dj, caterer, cake person, photographer, and
videographer. Are you kidding me? I just want to be
the groom
whenever that day comes. I have many respected Dj friends that I
trust to
do a quality job for me.
